Sewing and Craft Care Group Member
The members of the African Caribbean Care Group for the Elderly (ACCG) have once again enjoyed another year of social interactions and health enhancing activities through, for example, producing practical and exciting items in a relaxed but structured setting.
Current activities enjoyed by members include exercises, embroidery, knitting, weaving, block printing, fabric painting, hand and machine sewing, dress and costume making and floristry.
The ACCG has embraced the concept of ‘Healthy Living’ and the Sewing and Craft Project continues to take the lead role in the exercise aspect of this initiative.
The Craft Teacher has now completed a ‘Freedom in Dance’ course and has topped up the skills required with two refresher courses relating to dance and exercise for the older people.
